BlackBerry is making some key BBM privacy features free for all users. In an update to BBM on BlackBerry, iOS, and Android, users will be able to use Retract, which allows you to delete a message from both the sender and recipient, and Timer, which set limits on how long a message or photo can be viewed, for free.
The company introduced the privacy features for its BBM messaging service two years ago as part of a $0.99 a month subscription plan. The update also brings message editing and Private Chat, a feature that removes names and avatars from the chat window, to all platforms. It's nice that BlackBerry is making these features free for its remaining users, but if it would've done this years ago, it might of still had enough users to actually enjoy them.
